WE WELCOME SINGERS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES
POTENTIAL NEW MEMBERS - FALL 2020 (First Rehearsal - Monday, September. 14, 2020) ON ZOOM!!!
PENINSULA SINGERS AND YOU
If you enjoy singing and enjoy people, then Peninsula Singers is for you.
Your level of musical ability doesn't matter - we have people with years of singing experience and wide musical knowledge, and people who have never sung in a concert before or who can't read music.
Enthusiasm for choral music, a willingness to do a bit of homework to learn your notes when necessary, and availability to attend (most) rehearsals are all it takes.
This semester will be entirely online via Zoom!
Rehearsals take place on Monday nights between 5:30 and 7:30pm.
We begin each rehearsal with warm-up vocalizing. After the warm-up, Sarah Suhonen, our Artistic Director, will take us through the various pieces of music we’re working on for the semester, all from her fantastic music studio at home!
No performances will be happening this semester! This is just a great opportunity to learn some new music, enjoy the company of other music lovers, and have fun!
No Audition Necessary
If you would like to join us, you need to start within the first few weeks of the season. No need to contact us, just come along to a rehearsal.
If you have any questions before you join, feel free to email our President Bobbi Seelig! She would be happy to help!
You can contact her at: firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to meeting you.
Choir membership is usually $70.00 semi-annually, but due to COVID-19 we will be having a discounted price for our Zoom rehearsals. This goes to cover the cost of our paid professional staff, marketing materials, and other expenses.
Before COVID-19 Information:
Before moving to our homes to socially-distance, we would meet at the Point Loma/Hervey Branch Library on Point Loma [map], 3701 Voltaire Street, San Diego for rehearsals on Monday nights between 5:30 and 7:30pm.
At approximately 6:30pm we would take a short break for announcements and snacks. Different members would volunteer to bring snack items and water each week.
Concert schedules, call times, and carpooling information will be announced at the rehearsals and will be updated on the website. Occasionally announcements of any additional social activities and section rehearsals will also be made.
At the end of the season, we would hold at least two concerts: one at the library where we rehearse for our "Friends of the Library" concert, and then another usually within the next week at a second venue. Other performances may have been added for special events. We encourage you to stay with us after COVID-19 so that we can get to know you in person once it is safe to do so!
