about us:  LEADERSHIP

Our Board of Directors is made up of chorus members who are community leaders, each bringing special talents
and strengths to the group in order to support and serve our artistic team and the chorus.

The Board of Directors for Peninsula Singers meets monthly after the Monday rehearsal.

Our Non-Board Volunteers are also choir members who contribute their time and talents to our organization.

Bobbi Seelig: PRESIDENT
president@peninsulasingerssandiego.org

Joining Peninsula Singers in 2016 was an easy choice…a chance to sing and to meet people in the community! Bobbi Seelig grew up singing, which continued in her own home and teaching career. She was awarded Teacher of the Year three times and in 2005, Bobbi was honored as Carlsbad’s District Teacher of the Year, after which she was selected as the Alumnus of the Year from Point Loma Nazarene University. She has co-led 67 Navy and church marriage enrichment retreats worldwide with her husband, Steve, and has directed over 50 children’s musicals presented by her third-grade students and church kids. Bobbi enjoys playing with her 5 grandchildren, volunteering in their classrooms, playing golf, international travel, and participating in her church choir and Peninsula Singers.

Marty Jansen: VICE PRESIDENT & FUNDRAISER
Marty Jansen is vice-president of Peninsula Singers. After earning a degree in microbiology from the University of Massachusetts, he served in the US Army in Southeast Asia, and finished his formal education with an MBA at the University of Arizona. After moving to San Diego with his wife, Charlene, in 2010, he joined Peninsula Singers at her suggestion, and is now in his fourth year with the chorus.  Marty has run two marathons and won a 10K road race in New Hampshire. His favorite activity is flying (private pilot), but scuba diving, walking, biking, and tennis are also favorite things to do.

Shelley Anderson: MARKETING, PAST PRESIDENT EMERITUS
marketing@peninsulasingerssandiego.org
Shelley is an advertising professional and life-long singer.  She founded Pro Media, a media buying service, in 1988 and is  partner -- with her husband Hal Hodgson -- in The Marketing Deli, a San Diego advertising agency.  In high school, Shelley sang in school and church choirs, a folk duo and in school and community musicals.  In college, she studied music and voice, was in chorus and had lead roles in musical theater.  She is also a guitarist and has performed as a solo artist around San Diego. She has been in many San Diego vocal groups including Singer’s Workshop, Choraleers, San Diego Choral Club,  Southern            Comfort (women’s quintet) and Shell’s Belles (women’s trio.)  She has been a member of                                                  Peninsula Singers since 2014.

Sandy joined Peninsula Singers in 2013 and was instantly hooked. She enjoys the lively
and friendly atmosphere, as well as the wide variety of musical selections.  In 2010,
Sandy retired from a long career as an elementary school special education teacher.
Since that time, she has found time to study Spanish for fun and travel, take cooking
classes both here and abroad, as well as travel in her camper throughout the USA
and Canada.  Sandy has had experience on two other non-profit boards and looks forward to helping in any way she can.

Erin Frankel: LIBRARIAN

Erin has been the librarian since the beginning of Peninsula Singers. She is very proud of our group. She looks forward to each new season and can't wait to sing!  She has been married for 31 years to Fred and they have two grandchildren and two wonderful daughters that she would love to tell you about.  Erin grew up in San Diego and has lived in Ocean Beach for 35 years. Welcome to Peninsula Singers where we Enrich, Educate and Entertain!

Becky Greene: SECRETARY
social@peninsulasingerssandiego.org
Becky has been a member of Peninsula Singers since the inception of the choir.  After singing in the shower, the car, and at the beach her whole life, Peninsula Singers is the first choir she has been a member of. She has enjoyed all types of music: popular and classical alike. One of the highlights has been singing in a mixed-voice quartet, first called The Four Flats, and then renamed The Quarter Notes. She and husband Frank have been married for 40 years. They have raised four children on the Point, have three grand daughters and a fourth grandchild on the way!

Treasa Skiles: SOCIAL
A Peninsula Singer for 10 years, I started singing in elementary school and continued to be "shower singer" ever since. Singing brings me joy. I've lived in Point Loma for the past 22 years, returning to San Diego after 24 years as a corporate gypsy traveling to Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Detroit. My two sons, one lives in Pacific Beach and the other in Mill Valley, have families. Between them I have 5 grands. They, too, have inherited the "music" gene. When I'm not singing, I play golf, paint, or power walk.

Hannah Arzanpouli: SOCIAL MEDIA
Hannah grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she sang in a church choir and played     trombone in a number of high school orchestras and bands. At university she joined the     student Gilbert & Sullivan Society. On leaving university, Hannah trained as a high             school French teacher, and then spent two years in Italy before moving to Washington
DC in 2013. During these years she had little chance to sing or play music, so she was     thrilled to find the Peninsula Singers when she moved to San Diego! Hannah works in
marketing and lives with her husband in Sunset Cliffs, where they have spent 18 months remodeling their house.
